Charterhouse Our Lady of Korea is a Carthusian monastery located in Sangju, South Korea. It was established in 2002, and is one of two Carthusian monasteries in Asia, with the other being Charterhouse of the Annunciation, also in South Korea. Sangju
Sangju (; ) is a Administrative divisions of South Korea, city in North Gyeongsang Province, South Korea. Although Sangju is rather rural, it is very old and was once a key city. Along with Gyeongju, it gives rise to half of the name of the Gyeongsang Provinces. Sangju is nicknamed ''Sam Baek'', or "Three Whites", referring to three prominent agricultural products rice, silkworm cocoon (silk), cocoons, and dried persimmons from the area. North Gyeongsang Province
North Gyeongsang Province (, ) is a province in eastern South Korea, and with an area of , it is the largest province in the Korean peninsula. The province was formed in 1896 from the northern half of the former Gyeongsang province, and remained a province of Korea (as Keishōhoku-dō during Japanese rule) until the country's division in 1945, then became part of South Korea. Daegu was the capital of North Gyeongsang Province between 1896 and 1981, but has not been a part of the province since 1981. In 2016, the provincial capital moved from Daegu to Andong. The order was founded by Bruno of Cologne in 1084 and includes both monks and nuns.
