Charng Ratanarat
Charng Ratanarat ( th, จ่าง รัตนะรัต, 1904–1993) was a Thai chemist, government official and entrepreneur. He was the first to develop iron smelting techniques in Thailand, for the Siam Cement Company, where he served on the board of directors. He served as the Director-general of the Department of Science under the Ministry of Industry from 1944 to 1963, and as Permanent Secretary of Industry after that. The Siam Cement Public Company Limited (SCG; ) is the largest and oldest cement and building material company in Thailand and Southeast Asia. In 2016, SCG was also ranked as the second largest company in Thailand and the 604th largest public company in the world by ''Forbes''. The company is SET50 anSETHDlisted and an industry benchmark.
