Charlotte Möhring
Charlotte Möhring (born 31 March 1887 - died 19 October 1970 in Berlin) was a German aviator and the second German woman to receive a pilot's license. Life She was born in Pankow in 1887. Möhring was a passenger on a flight from Johannisthal Air Field, Johannisthal to Dallgow-Döberitz, Döberitz on board a Rumpler Taube. On 7 September 1912 she received pilot's license #285 flying a Grade monoplane. She was the second German woman to be licensed (after Amelie Beese), and the third woman in German Empire, Germany (after Beese and Božena Laglerová from Prague). She flew at the ''Essen-Gelsenkirchen-Rotthausen'' aerodrome. Charlotte was married to Georg Mürau, who was also a pilot and instructor, they operated a flying school together in 1914. She was the manager and they toured and exhibited in 21 cities in Germany alone. Pankow () is the second largest and most populous Boroughs and quarters of Berlin, borough of the German capital Berlin. Early Aviators
The Early Birds of Aviation is an organization devoted to the history of early pilots. The organization was started in 1928 and accepted a membership of 598 pioneering aviators. Membership was limited to those who piloted a glider, gas balloon, or airplane, prior to December 17, 1916, covering the entirety of the pioneer era of aviation, and just over two years into World War I. The cutoff date was set at December 17 to correspond to the first flights of Wilbur and Orville Wright. 1916 was chosen as a cutoff because a large number of people were trained in 1917 as pilots for World War I. Twelve of the aviators were women. The original organization dissolved once the last living member had died. This occurred with the death of 99-year-old George D. Grundy Jr. on May 19, 1998. Božena Laglerová
Božena Gabriela Vítězslava Laglerová (11 December 1888 – 8 October 1941) was a Czechs, Czech pioneer aviator. She become the first female pilot in Austria-Hungary. She competed in air competitions. Biography Laglerová was born in Vinohrady (now part of Prague), Bohemia, Austria-Hungary on 11 December 1888. She was a accomplished opera singer and sculptor before embarking on her aviation career. Laglerová was the seventh and final child of Jozefa Počtová and Vojtěch Lagler. A graduate of the Prague Conservatory in 1906, she initially joined the vocal ensemble of the Vinohrady Theatre, where she was later promoted to soloist in 1908. During the dress rehearsal of her first performance, she lost her voice , and despite retraining in Paris, a vocal cord injury ended her performance career.
