Charlotte County (2021 population 26,015) is the most southwestern county of New Brunswick, Canada. It was formed in 1784 when New Brunswick was partitioned from Nova Scotia and named for Queen Charlotte. Once a layer of local government, the county seat was abolished with the New Brunswick Equal Opportunity program in 1966. Counties continue to be used as census subdivisions by Statistics Canada. Bay Of Fundy
The Bay of Fundy () is a bay between the Canadian provinces of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, with a small portion touching the U.S. state of Maine. It is an arm of the Gulf of Maine. Its tidal range is the highest in the world. The bay was named ''Bakudabakek'' by the indigenous Mi'kmaq and Passamaquoddy groups, meaning "open way". Sunbury County (2021 population 27,864) is located in central New Brunswick, Canada. A large military base ( CFB Gagetown) is located in the western part of the county south of the town of Oromocto. The county also hosts forestry and mixed farming. Burton is the county shire town. Clarendon is a geographic parish in Charlotte County, New Brunswick, Canada, located in the interior to the north of Point Lepreau and southwest of CFB Gagetown. For governance purposes, Clarendon is part of the Capital Region rural district, which is a member of the Capital Region Regional Service Commission. Prior to the 2023 governance reform, the parish comprised a single local service district (LSD), which was a member of Capital Region Service Commission (RSC11). Atlantic Salmon
The Atlantic salmon (''Salmo salar'') is a species of ray-finned fish in the family Salmonidae. It is the third largest of the Salmonidae, behind Hucho taimen, Siberian taimen and Pacific Chinook salmon, growing up to a meter in length. Atlantic salmon are found in the northern Atlantic Ocean and in rivers that flow into it. Most populations are anadromous, hatching in streams and rivers but moving out to sea as they grow where they mature, after which the adults seasonally move upstream again to spawn. When the mature fish re-enter rivers to spawn, they change in colour and appearance. Some populations of this fish only migrate to large lakes, and are "landlocked", spending their entire lives in freshwater. Such populations are found throughout the range of the species. Connors Brothers Limited was a fish packing company founded by Lewis and Patrick Connors in the 1880s and based in Blacks Harbour, New Brunswick. It is known by the Brunswick brand, and is the only remaining producer of sardines in North America. Brunswick claims to be the largest sardine producer in the world. Campobello Island
Campobello Island (, also ) is the largest and only inhabited island in Campobello Parish in southwestern New Brunswick, Canada, near the border with Maine, United States. It is the site of the Roosevelt Campobello International Park, Head Harbour Lighthouse, and of Herring Cove Provincial Park. It has been an incorporated rural community since 2010 and is a member of the Southwest New Brunswick Service Commission (SNBSC).
