Charlotte Cobras
The Charlotte Cobras were a member of the Major Indoor Lacrosse League (MILL). They were based at Independence Arena in Charlotte, North Carolina and only played during the 1996 season. In October 1995, the MILL announced that Charlotte had been awarded an expansion franchise to begin play for the 1996 season. After failing to win a single game for the season, the MILL folded the franchise in August 1996. The name was later alluded to in the name of the Carolina Cobras, which played in the Arena Football League. There is a Charlotte Cobras playing as a works team of city public employees in the National Public Safety Football League. Independence Arena
Bojangles Coliseum (originally Charlotte Coliseum and formerly Independence Arena and Cricket Arena) is an 8,600-seat multi-purpose arena located in Charlotte, North Carolina. It is operated by the Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority, which also oversees nearby Ovens Auditorium and the uptown Charlotte Convention Center. Carolina Cobras
The Carolina Cobras were an expansion franchise in the Arena Football League. The team was formed prior to the 2000 season, which endured a player strike. The team was originally based in Raleigh, North Carolina, but moved to Charlotte following its third season. History They played their home games in Raleigh, North Carolina, at the Raleigh Entertainment & Sports Arena (now called the PNC Arena) prior to the 2003 season.
