Charles W. G. Rich
Charles W. G. Rich (December 22, 1910 – August 24, 1993) was a career officer in the United States Army. A 1935 graduate of the United States Military Academy and veteran of World War II and the Korean War, Rich attained the rank of lieutenant general. He was a recipient of several decorations, including two awards of the Army Distinguished Service Medal, the Silver Star, two awards of the Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star Medal, the French Legion of Honor (Chevalier), French Croix de Guerre with two palms, Polish Order of Polonia Restituta (Officer), Belgian Croix de Guerre, and South Korean Order of National Security Merit (Gukseon). The United States Army War College (USAWC) is a U.S. Army educational institution in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, on the 500-acre (2 km2) campus of the historic Carlisle Barracks.
