Charles Silvia
Charles Eaton "Red" Silvia was an All-American competitive swimmer for Springfield College, and a Hall of Fame swimming coach for Springfield from 1937 through 1978 where he led his teams to ten New England Intercollegiate Championships. A 1956 Assistant Olympic swimming coach, he was an outstanding contributor to the swimming community and served as President of the College Swimming Coaches Association of America, as well as chairing the Board of the International Swimming Hall of Fame. He authored seven books on swimming, Life Saving, and Scuba Diving, and was best known for his book, ''Life Saving and Water Safety Today''. Education Silvia was born January 3, 1911, in Sommerville, Massachusetts, outside of Boston to Anthony B. and Jane Kemp Silvia."Charles E. Springfield College
Springfield College is a private university in Springfield, Massachusetts, United States.
