Charles Christopher James Mitchell KC ( Hon) (born 14 May 1965) is a British legal scholar acknowledged as one of the leading common-law experts on the English law of restitution of unjust enrichment and the law of trusts. Charles Lewis Mitchell (November 10, 1829 – April 13, 1912) was a printer, officer in the Union Army during the American Civil War, and state legislator in Massachusetts. Along with Edward G. Walker, Mitchell was one of the first two African Americans to serve in the Massachusetts General Court. Early life Mitchell was born in Hartford, Connecticut. In 1853 he began work as a printer for William Lloyd Garrison's abolitionist newspaper, '' The Liberator''. During the American Civil War he served in the 55th Massachusetts Colored Volunteer Infantry and was wounded at the Battle of Honey Hill in South Carolina, resulting in the loss of one foot. For his courage in action at Honey Hill, Mitchell was promoted to second lieutenant. After the war, Mitchell married Nellie Brown, a noted popular singer in Boston. Charles "Trey" Mitchell III (born July 16, 1993) is a professional strongman from Lumberton, Texas. Standing 6'4" tall and known by his nickname "Big Tex", he is most notable for winning the Shaw Classic strongman championship two consecutive times in 2021 and 2022. Mitchell was born on July 16, 1993, and started strength training for football at high school. He then entered his first strength contest in Houston in 2012 and gradually excelled in the sport, winning the America's Strongest Man in Long Beach, California in 2018. Charles Richmond Mitchell (November 30, 1872 – August 16, 1942) was a Canadian lawyer, judge, cabinet minister and former Leader of the Official Opposition in the Legislative Assembly of Alberta. Early life Mitchell was born in Newcastle, New Brunswick. At the time, the Mitchells were a prominent local family: Mitchell's father was the Sheriff of Northumberland County and his uncle was Peter Mitchell, a senator and later Premier of New Brunswick. He went to the University of New Brunswick and King's College and took the New Brunswick bar exam in 1897. The next year he moved to Medicine Hat, at that time in the Northwest Territories and opened a thriving legal practice. He was appointed as a Judge in 1907 for the Calgary District Court.
