Charlie Frye
Charles Thomas Frye (born August 28, 1981) is an American former football quarterback who currently serves as a defensive assistant for the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League (NFL). He played six seasons in the National Football League (NFL) for the Cleveland Browns, Seattle Seahawks, and Oakland Raiders. Frye played college football for the Akron Zips and was selected by the Cleveland Browns in the third round of the 2005 NFL draft. Early life Frye graduated from Willard High School in Willard, Ohio, and was a football standout at quarterback under coach Chris Hawkins. He broke 17 of the school's all-time football records. Charles Andrew Frye (July 17, 1913May 25, 1945) was a pitcher in Major League Baseball who played for the Philadelphia Phillies during the 1940 season. Listed at , , he batted and threw right-handed. Born in Hickory, North Carolina, Charlie Frye was one of many baseball players whose professional career was interrupted during World War II. Frye started in organized baseball in 1937 for the Mooresville Moors of the Class D (baseball), Class D level North Carolina State League. He later played for Class-B Evansville (Illinois–Indiana–Iowa League, 1938), returning to Class-D with Snow Hill Billies (Coastal Plain League, 1939) and Martinsville Manufacturers (Bi-State League, 1939–40) before joining the Phillies, appearing for them in July 1940 in a span of fifteen games. Charles Anthony Fried (born Karel Fried; April 15, 1935 – January 23, 2024) was an American jurist and lawyer. He served as Solicitor General of the United States under President Ronald Reagan from 1985 to 1989. He was a professor at Harvard Law School and a visiting professor at Columbia Law School. He also served on the board of the nonpartisan group, the Campaign Legal Center. Fried was the author of more than ten books and over 30 journal articles, and his work appeared in over a dozen collections.
