Charles Edward Tisdall
Charles Edward Tisdall (9 April 1866 – 17 March 1936) was the 19th mayor of Vancouver, British Columbia from 1922 to 1923. He was born in Birmingham, England and moved to Vancouver in April 1888. In 1899 he was elected Chairman of the Vancouver Board of Trade. In 1907, Tisdall married Edith B. White. He was a member of the province's legislative assembly with the British Columbia Conservative Party The Conservative Party of British Columbia, commonly known as the BC Conservatives and colloquially known as the Tories, is a provincial political party in British Columbia, Canada. The ''Vancouver Sun'', also known as the ''Sun'', is a daily broadsheet newspaper based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The newspaper is currently published by the Pacific Newspaper Group, a division of Postmedia Network, and is the largest newspaper in western Canada by circulation. Since 2022, it is published five days a week from Tuesday to Saturday. The newspaper was first published on 12 February 1912. It quickly expanded by acquiring other papers, such as the ''Daily News-Advertiser'' and '' The Evening World''.
