Charles Cheboi Simotwo
Charles Cheboi Simotwo (born 6 May 1995) is a Kenyan middle distance runner. On 6 July 2017 at the Athletissima Diamond League meeting at the Stade Olympique de la Pontaise, in Lausanne he ran 1500m in 3:32.59 as he finished second behind Aman Wote for a new personal best which would ultimately place him inside the top 10 worldwide in the year. In 2019, Charles Simotwo injured a leg in a traffic accident that forced him to undergo surgery. He won the 1500m on the 19 June 2021 at the Kenyan Olympic trials to secure his place at the delayed 2020 Summer Games. Bethwell Birgen (born 6 August 1988) is a Kenyan middle-distance runner. His personal best of 3:30.77 minutes for the 1500 metres ranks him among the top fifty ever for the event, while his indoor best of 3:34.65 minutes is among the top twenty. He represented Kenya in the 1500 m at the 2012 IAAF World Indoor Championships and the 2013 World Championships in Athletics, but did not make the final on either occasion. Ronald Chebolei Kwemoi ( ja, ﾛﾅﾙﾄﾞ ｹﾓｲ; born 19 September 1995) is a Kenyan long-distance runner who competes in cross country running and track running events. He specialises in the 1500 metres and holds a personal best of 3:28.81 minutes set at Herculis on July 18, 2014. The time is a world junior record. He was the 2014 Kenyan champion in the event. He was a team silver medallist at the 2013 IAAF World Cross Country Championships. George Meitamei Manangoi (born 29 November 2000) is a Kenyan middle-distance runner. In the 1,500 metres event, his personal best is a 3:31.49 (Stade Louis II, Monaco, 12 July 2019). He won this event at the 2018 U20 World Championships in Tampere, defeating Jakob Ingebrigtsen. He is the young brother of Elijah Manangoi, who is also a middle-distance runner. Timothy Cheruiyot (born 20 November 1995) is a Kenyan middle-distance runner specialising in the 1500 metres. He is the 2020 Tokyo Olympic silver medallist in the event. At the World Athletics Championships, Cheruiyot won the silver medal in 2017 in London, and a gold in 2019 in Doha. He took the silver medal in his specialty event at the 2018 and 2022 Commonwealth Games, and is also a two-time African Championship silver medallist from 2016 and 2018.
