Charles Calderon
Charles Michael Calderon (born March 12, 1950) is an American attorney and politician who served in both chambers of the California State Legislature. Early life and education Calderon was born on March 12, 1950 in Montebello, California. He graduated from California State University, Los Angeles and earned a J.D. degree from the UC Davis School of Law. Career Prior to his 1982 election to the Assembly, Calderon was a prosecutor and also served on the Montebello School Board. Calderon was first elected to the Assembly in 1982. In 1988–89, he became leader of a power struggle for control of the Assembly. The "Gang of Five", included Calderon, Gary Condit, Steve Peace of Chula Vista, Gerald Eaves of Rialto, and Rusty Areias of Los Banos. Ian Charles Calderon (born October 19, 1985) is an American politician serving in the California State Assembly. He is a Democrat representing the 57th Assembly District, which encompasses the Gateway Cities and portions of the San Gabriel Valley. He served as the Assembly Majority Leader from 2016 to 2020. Gary Condit
Gary Adrian Condit (born April 21, 1948) is an American former politician who represented California's 18th congressional district in the House of Representatives from 1989 to 2003. He gained significant national attention for an extramarital affair with Chandra Levy, an intern with the Federal Bureau of Prisons. The affair was publicized after Levy's disappearance in May 2001 and the discovery of Levy's remains a year later. Although Condit was never formally a suspect in Levy's disappearance and murder, he lost the 2002 Democratic primary based in large part on negative publicity from the scandal.
