Charles Albertine
Charles Albertine (February 24, 1929 – May 18, 1986) was an American musician, composer, and arranger of the space-age pop era. He is best known as an arranger for Les and Larry Elgart, Sammy Kaye, and The Three Suns, and as the composer of ''Bandstand Boogie''. He also composed music for many television shows. Early life and career Albertine was born in Passaic, New Jersey. He began playing piano at age five, and after high school played oboe with the Radio City Music Hall band. He played tenor saxophone with the Sammy Kaye band in the late 1940s, and became the arranger for Les Elgart's swing band in 1952. In the 1950s and 60s, he arranged and composed on recordings for Les and Larry Elgart, Sammy Kaye, The Three Suns and others. His compositions were recorded by artists as diverse as Chet Atkins, Bud Powell, Barry Manilow, and Lawrence Welk. Richard Wagstaff Clark (November 30, 1929April 18, 2012) was an American television and radio personality and television producer who hosted ''American Bandstand'' from 1956 to 1989. He also hosted five incarnations of the Pyramid (game show), ''Pyramid'' game show from 1973 to 1988 and ''Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve'', which broadcast New Year's Eve celebrations in New York City's Times Square. As host of ''American Bandstand'', Clark introduced rock and roll to many Americans. Sidney Thomas "Tommy" Boyce (September 29, 1939 – November 23, 1994) and Bobby Hart (born Robert Luke Harshman; February 18, 1939) were an American duo of singer-songwriters. In addition to three top-40 hits as artists, the duo is well known for its songwriting for The Monkees. Early years Hart's father was a church Minister (Christianity), minister and he himself served in the United States Army, Army after leaving high school. Upon discharge, he travelled to Los Angeles seeking a career as a singer. Boyce was separately pursuing a career as a songwriter. After being rejected numerous times, Boyce took his father's suggestion to write a song called "Be My Guest (Fats Domino song), Be My Guest" for rock and roll star Fats Domino. He waited six hours at Domino's hotel room to present him with the demo, and got Domino to promise to listen to the song. Tommy Boyce
Sidney Thomas Boyce was an American singer songwriter. He was a part of the songwriting team Boyce and Hart with Bobby Hart. Boyce was born in Charlottesville, Virginia in 1939. Before writing songs with Hart he released three singles as a solo artist in 1962, that all charted within the 100s section of the Billboard 200. At his fathers request, he wrote a song called " Be My Guest" intended for Fats Domino.
