Charizma (band)
Charizma is a Swedish rock band formed in Oskarshamn. It was founded in 1981 by the three brothers Bo, Jan and Göran Nikolausson. In 1996 the band added two members, Johan Mauritzson and Thomas Karlsson. In November 2008 the band went on an indefinite hiatus. Starting out as a hard rock trio in the early 1980s, at the end of the 1990s Charizma turned into a radio-friendly rock band focusing on melodies and strong vocal elements. The band is primarily known for its songs "Waiting (Here for you)" and "Run to God". The song "Join hands" (1990) was a major hit in Estonia and became part of the Singing Revolution. Charizma performed in the pre-selections for Eurovision Song Contest in 2004 in Estonia (''Eurolaul'') and in 2007 in Poland (''Piosenka dla Europy 2007''). Oskarshamn
Oskarshamn is a coastal city and the seat of Oskarshamn Municipality, Kalmar County, Sweden with 17,258 inhabitants in 2010. History Etymology Döderhultsvik was the original name before a town charter was granted in 1856. The name was then changed to Oscarshamn (meaning: Oscar's port) after the king Oscar I of Sweden. The spelling has later changed to Oskarshamn. Struggle for town charter The location of Oskarshamn was known as Döderhultsvik since the Medieval age. In 1645, the city of Kalmar, to the south, made a request to the Royal Government on holding commerce in the bay there, which was granted, giving it merchancy rights as a ''köping''. Piosenka Dla Europy 2007
Poland participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 with the song "Time to Party" written by Kamil Varen, David Junior Serame and Mateusz Krezan. The song was performed by the duo The Jet Set. The Polish broadcaster Telewizja Polska (TVP) organised the national final ''Piosenka dla Europy 2007'' in order to select the Polish entry for the 2007 contest in Helsinki, Finland. The national final took place on 3 February 2007 and featured ten entries. "Time to Party" performed by The Jet Set was selected as the winner after gaining the most public votes. Poland competed in the semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest which took place on 10 May 2007. Performing in position 14, "Time to Party" was not announced among the top 10 entries of the semi-final and therefore did not qualify to compete in the final. Wes King
Wes King (born January 20, 1966) is an American contemporary Christian singer, songwriter, photographer, and musician. He is perhaps best known for his 1993 album ''The Robe.'' His demo material, a cassette tape named "Lonely Poet", is sung by other artists, such as Kim Hill. He briefly attended Covenant College outside of Chattanooga, Tennessee, in the late 1980s. He also led worship at Christian youth retreat camps. Background After picking up the guitar at the age of 14, Wes wrote his first songs two years later; after studying the Bible at Covenant College, he relocated to Franklin, Tennessee.
