Charitha Priyadarshani
Visharadha Charitha Priyadarshani Peiris ( si, චරිතා ප්රියදර්ශනී පීරිස්: born 19 October 1967), is a Sri Lankan songstress, playback singer and announcer. Personal life Priyadarshani was born on 19 October 1967 in Mirihana, Nugegoda. She has one older sister, Malika. Her father, Ariyadasa Peiris, was a popular radio artist and filmmaker. Her mother, Pushpa Wijeratne, was a housewife who died in 2001 after a brief illness. Priyadarshani completed education from Anula Vidyalaya, Nugegoda. She sang in every school ceremony along with her classmate Deepika Priyadarshani. At the school, Charitha studied Kandyan dancing under Daya Nellampitiya and Christine Dissanayake. One of the most popular female singers in Sri Lanka, she is the only Sri Lankan vocalist to awarded with Gusi Peace Prize. Roshan Pilapitiya Abhayasinghe (born 21 March 1975: si, රොෂාන් පිලපිටිය), is an actor in Sri Lankan cinema, theatre and television as well as a singer.
