Charel Weiler
Charel Weiler (born 18 September 1986) is a Luxembourgish politician of the Christian Social People's Party (CSV). Since 2023, he has served as a member of the Chamber of Deputies from the North constituency. He also serves as mayor of Diekirch since 2023. He is the son of fellow CSV politician Lucien Weiler Lucien Weiler (born 3 August 1951 in Ettelbruck) is a Luxembourgish politician and jurist. North (; ; ) is one of the four multi-member constituencies of the Chamber of Deputies, the national legislature of Luxembourg. The constituency was established in 1919 following the introduction of proportional representation for elections to the Chamber of Deputies. It consists of the cantons of Clervaux, Diekirch, Redange, Vianden and Wiltz. The constituency currently elects nine of the 60 members of the Chamber of Deputies using the open party-list proportional representation electoral system. Christian Social People's Party
The Christian Social People's Party (, , ; CSV or PCS) is the largest political party in Luxembourg. The party follows a Christian democratic and conservative ideology and has been described as centre to centre-right. Furthermore, akin to most parties in Luxembourg, it is strongly pro-European. The CSV is a member of the Christian Group, European People's Party, and the Centrist Democrat International. The CSV has been the largest party in the Chamber of Deputies since the party's formation, and currently holds 21 of 60 seats in the Chamber. Lucien Weiler
Lucien Weiler (born 3 August 1951 in Ettelbruck) is a Luxembourgish politician and jurist. He is a member of the Christian Social People's Party, and served as President of the Chamber of Deputies from 3 August 2004 to 7 June 2009. He was first elected to the Chamber at the 1984 election, representing the Nord circonscription.
