Charalambos Theopemptou
Charalambos Theopemptou (born 26 November 1955) is a Cypriot politician, who is the leader of the Movement of Ecologists – Citizens' Cooperation since 2020 and serves as a member of the Cypriot House of Representatives since 2016. The Movement of Ecologists – Citizens' Cooperation (, ΚΟΣΠ, KOSP), formerly known as the Ecological and Environmental Movement (), is a Green politics, green List of political parties in Cyprus, political party in Cyprus. In both the 2001 Cypriot legislative election, 2001 and 2006 Cypriot legislative election, 2006 legislative elections, the party won 2.0% of the popular vote and 1 of 56 seats. In 2011 Cypriot legislative election, 2011, it garnered 2.2% of the popular vote, and its sole parliamentarian, George Perdikes, retained his seat. The party increased its seat count from 1 to 2 following the 2016 Cypriot legislative election, 2016 legislative elections, where it obtained 4.8% of the vote, coming in seventh place. In the same year, the party adopted its current name and a new logo. The House of Representatives ( ; ) is the national unicameral legislature of the Republic of Cyprus. Members and three observers representing Armenian, Latin, and Maronite Cypriots are elected by proportional representation every five years. 30% of seats are allocated to Turkish Cypriots, but these have been vacant since 1964. The House of Representatives of Cyprus is the only legislature in the European Union within a fully presidential system. Elections A general election must be held on the second Sunday of the month immediately preceding the month in which the term of office of the outgoing House expires. Nicosia District
The Nicosia District, or simply Nicosia (also Lefkosia and Lefkoşa), is one of the six districts of Cyprus. Its main town is the island country's capital city, Nicosia.
