Daniel Francisco Chapo (born 6 January 1977) is a Mozambican politician, lawyer and jurist who has been the fifth president of Mozambique since 15 January 2025. Chapo previously served as the governor of Inhambane Province from 2016 to 2024. Chapo was the Secretary-General and candidate of the ruling political party, FRELIMO, for the 2024 presidential election. Pierre Chapo (23 July 1927 – January 1987), born in Paris, was a French furniture designer and craftsman. Biography Pierre Chapo was first interested in painting, his encounter with a shipbuilding carpenter in 1947, introduced him to wood and woodworking, and led to architectural studies at the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris. Luis Arturo Montes Jiménez (born 15 May 1986), also known as Chapito, is a Mexican former professional footballer. Club career Montes started his career playing for Pachuca's youth team.
