Marketplace Station
Marketplace is a Southwest Transitway station in the Barrhaven neighbourhood of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The station is located at the Chapman Mills Marketplace shopping centre, an extensive commercial zone which contains big-box stores and department stores. A temporary bus terminal served the neighbourhood initially. This street facility was replaced on April 17, 2011, by the permanent Transitway station and a new southerly terminus at Barrhaven Centre station which became the main connection point for local bus routes. Starting July 19, 2014, route 99 has selected trips extended to/from Barrhaven Centre Station via Nepean Woods station, Beatrice station, and the Vimy Memorial Bridge, providing a connection to Riverside South and Greenboro station. Barrhaven
Barrhaven is a suburb of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is located about southwest of the city's downtown core. Prior to amalgamation with Ottawa in 2001, Barrhaven was part of the City of Nepean. Its population as of the Canada 2021 Census was 103,234. Geography Barrhaven is approximately bounded to the north by the Greenbelt, to the east by the Rideau River, to the west by Highway 416, and to the south by the new Half Moon Bay development along Cambrian Road south of the Jock River. Strandherd Drive
Strandherd Drive is a major road serving the community of Barrhaven in southwest Ottawa. Realignment and extension Up until the mid-1990s, Strandherd Drive was an east-west coursing road extending from Moodie Drive to Woodroffe Avenue. With the introduction of Highway 416 and the growth of Longfields and Chapman Mills, Strandherd Drive has been realigned and has seen an increase in traffic. Standherd Drive begins in the west at an intersection with Fallowfield Road near Highway 416 as a two-lane road. Transitway (Ottawa)
The Transitway is a bus rapid transit (BRT) network operated by OC Transpo in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It comprises a series of bus-only roadways and reserved lanes on city streets and highways. The dedicated busways ensure that buses and emergency vehicles on the Transitway rarely intersect directly with regular traffic, making it possible to run quickly and consistently, even during rush hour traffic.
