Chaoyang University Of Technology
Chaoyang University of Technology (CYUT); ) is a university in Wufeng District, Taichung, Taiwan. Founded in 1994, originally named Chaoyang Institute of Technology, and granted university status in 1997. Currently, the university comprises 5 colleges and 23 departments, which offers 23 master's programs and 5 doctoral programs. There are 18,000 students currently enrolled, they are around 1,800, and faculty and staff total about 1,000. It was ranked 1201–1400 by QS in 2024. List of presidents History Chaoyang University of Technology was founded in 1994 through the generosity of Dr. Tien-sheng Yang, the President of the Ever Fortune Group, a major R.O.C.'s conglomerate. Wufeng District
Wufeng District () is a suburban district in southern Taichung, Taiwan. It is the location of Taiwan Provincial Consultative Council. Wufeng is a mainly agricultural town. It was heavily damaged by the Jiji earthquake on 21 September 1999, which caused around 100 deaths in the town. The 921 Earthquake Museum of Taiwan, which commemorates the giant quake, is built at what was formerly Guangfu Junior High School, which was destroyed when part of the school was uplifted by the Chelungpu Fault during the quake. The two major geographical features of this town are the Wu Xi (Wu Stream), which forms the town's southern border, and Xiangbi Shan (Elephant Trunk Mountain), which lies in the eastern part of the township. Poding Memorial Library () is the library at Chaoyang University of Technology in Wufeng District, Taichung, Taiwan, established in 1994. The construction of the new library building began in June 1997, and was completed in March 1999. History The first class of Chaoyang University of Technology started in August 1994, and the library opened on October 11 of the same year. The third floor of the university's Teaching Building temporarily served as the library's quarters. It was divided into a periodical and reference room, stacks, and a reading room. Afterward, the collection of the library increased so rapidly that in order to satisfy the needs of users it became necessary to add western book stacks and more separate rooms in November 1996. After a year of planning, the construction of the new library building began on June 28, 1997, and was completed in March 1999. Nantou County (; Hokkien POJ: ''Lâm-tâu-koān''; Hakka PFS: ''Nàm-thèu-yen'') is the second largest county of Taiwan by area, located in the central part of the country.
