Chaoma Sports Center
The Chaoma Sports Center () is a sport center in Xitun District, Taichung, Taiwan. History The construction of the sport center began in August 2014 and completed in April 2016. On 7 December 2016, Taichung Mayor Lin Chia-lung inspected the venue hoping that the venue would provide a training center for professional athletes and develop Taichung residents sporting habit. The sport center underwent trial opening on 20-26 December 2016 and was officially opened to the public on 30 December 2016. Xitun District
Xitun District or Situn District (, literally "western village") is the second-most populated district of Taichung, Taiwan. It is located on the western side of the city. Once considered part of the countryside, the district has seen rapid growth in recent years with department store and office towers in the redevelopment zone. Taichung City Hall is located in the district. History The original inhabitants of the area were the Pazeh people, who inhabited the Taichung Basin. The first Han settlers arrived in 1701, led by Liao Chao Kong () and Chang Da Jing (). As a result, the Pazeh people were pushed out of the area, and most of them migrated to Puli, Nantou. Many of its prehistory artifacts can be found at the Huilai Monument Archaeology Park. Lin Chia-lung
Lin Chia-lung (; born 13 February 1964) is a Taiwanese academic and Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) politician. He was elected mayor of Taichung City in November 2014 and took office on 25 December 2014. In the early 2000s he served in various capacities in the ROC Executive Yuan under DPP President Chen Shui-bian. Background Lin was born in Taipei City.
