Chang Gung Medical Foundation
The Chang Gung Medical Foundation (CGMH; ), also known as Chang Gung is a medical and hospital network located in Taiwan. It was founded in 1973 by Wang Yung-ching to commemorate his father Wang Chang-gung (). The hospital network has a total of 10,050 beds. In 2012, the hospital network was featured in National Geographic Channel's documentary, "Taiwan's Medical Miracle". History Chang Gung Medical Foundation was founded by Formosa Plastics Group founder Wang Yung-ching along with his brother Wang Yung-tsai. The primary purpose is to provide healthcare to the Taiwanese public. In March 1973, the foundation completed its public registration and opened its first hospital, Taipei Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, in 1976. Its second and largest hospital, the Linkou Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, opened two years later in 1978. In 2005, the hospital network made a record RMB¥1.3 billion in profit. Taoyuan, Taiwan
Taoyuan () is a special municipality of the Republic of China (Taiwan) located in northwestern Taiwan, neighboring New Taipei City to the north-east, Yilan County to the south-east, and Hsinchu County to the south-west. Taoyuan District is the seat of the municipal government and which, along with Zhongli District, forms a large metropolitan area. Taoyuan developed from a satellite city of Taipei metropolitan area to become the fourth-largest metropolitan area, and fifth-largest populated city in Taiwan. Yunlin County
Yunlin County (Mandarin pinyin: ''Yúnlín Xiàn''; Taigi POJ: ''Hûn-lîm-koān''; Hakka PFS: ''Yùn-lìm-yen'') is a county in western Taiwan. Yunlin County borders the Taiwan Strait to the west, Nantou County to the east, Changhua County to the north at the Zhuoshui River, and Chiayi County to the south at the Beigang River. Yunlin is part of the Chianan Plain, a flat land known for its agriculture. Agricultural products of Yunlin County include pomelo, tea leaves, suan cai, papaya and muskmelon. Chiayi County
Chiayi County (Mandarin pinyin: ''jiā yì xiàn''; Hokkien POJ: ''Ka-gī-koān'') is a county in southwestern Taiwan surrounding but not including Chiayi City. It is the sixth largest county in Taiwan. Name The former Chinese placename was Tsu-lo-san (), a representation of the original Formosan-language name ''Tirosen''. A shortened version, Tsulo, was then used to name Tsulo County, which originally covered the underdeveloped northern two-thirds of the island. Chang Gung University
Chang Gung University (CGU; ) is a private university in Guishan District, Taoyuan City, Taiwan. History The institution was established as the Chang Gung Medical College in April 1987. Engineering and management students have been accepted since 1993, when the name was changed to Chang Gung College of Medicine and Technology. In July 1997, the name was changed again to Chang Gung University. In February 2011 Chang Gung University and Arizona State University established an international Biosignatures Center aimed at the prevention, early detection, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer and other diseases.
