Chandran Veyattummal
Chandran Veyattummal (also known as Paris Chandran/ Paris V Chandran; April 30, 1956 – May 22, 2022) was born in a traditional musical family in Narikkuni, Kozhikode district of Kerala). Chandran started learning music at the age of six under parents first and then under renowned gurus like Venu Nanminda and Ustad Ahemmed Hussain Khan. Adept at percussion, string instruments, wind instruments, keyboard and reed instruments, he became a music composer. Since 1982, he has been giving background scores for theatrical productions, films and documentaries. He has won Kerala State Film Awards for best background score for the film Bioscope in 2008. He was a disciple of Njaralath Rama Pothuval, Theyyanasan, Kunnamkulam Kelu Asaan. Sithara Krishnakumar (born 1 July 1986) is an Indian playback singer, composerlyricist classical dancer and an occasional actor. Margi Sathi
Margi Sathi (official name P. S. Sathi Devi) (1965 - 2015) was an exponent of Nangiǎr Kūthu which is a form of performing art derived from Koodiyattam and which is traditionally performed by the female members of the Chakkyar community of Kerala. She was also an accomplished expert in enacting the female characters in Koodiyattam. She has performed extensively within India and abroad. A notable performance was at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris in October 2001 as part of a programme to mark UNESCO's proclamation of Kutiyattam as a "masterpiece of oral and intangible heritage of humanity". The Kerala State Film Awards are the film awards for a motion picture made in Kerala. The awards started in 1969 by the Department of Cultural Affairs, Government of Kerala and since 1998 the awards have been bestowed by Kerala State Chalachitra Academy on behalf of the Department of Cultural Affairs.
