Champawat Legislative Assembly constituency is one of the 70 Legislative Assembly constituencies of Uttarakhand state in India. It is a part of Almora Lok Sabha constituency. Members of the Legislative Assembly ^ by-poll Election results 2022 by election In the 2022 Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly election, Pushkar Singh Dhami lost from his Khatima seat. In order to continue as the Chief Minister, Dhami had to win as an MLA from another seat, within 6 months. To enable this, Kailash Chandra Gahtori resigned from his seat, and by-elections were called for. Champawat district is a district of Uttarakhand state in northern India. The town of Champawat is the administrative headquarters. The district of Champawat constituted in the year 1997. The district is divided into five tehsils: Barakot, Lohaghat, Pati, Purnagiri, and Champawat. There is 2 Sub Tehsil: Pulla and Munch. The largest and the main city of the district is Tanakpur. Champawat district is part of the eastern Kumaon division of Uttarakhand. Pushkar Singh Dhami
Pushkar Singh Dhami (born 16 September 1975) is an Indian politician and a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party, serving as the 10th and the current Chief Minister of Uttarakhand. He was elected as MLA in Uttarakhand Vidhan Sabha from Khatima in 2012 and 2017. He was appointed Chief Minister for the first time in 2021. He lost his seat in 2022 elections, but was re-elected as Chief Minister by BJP MLAs. He is the only Chief Minister of the state to assume a second consecutive term as CM ,since its creation. The 2017 Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly election were the 4th Vidhan Sabha ( Legislative Assembly) election of the state of Uttarakhand in India. Elections were held on 15 February 2017 in a single phase for the 69 seats of the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly. Voting in the Karnaprayag constituency was postponed until 9 March 2017 due to the death of BSP candidate Kuldeep Kanwasi in a road accident.
