Doomben Racecourse
Doomben Racecourse is a horse racing venue in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It is located in the suburb of Ascot, 7 kilometres north of the Brisbane central business district. The Doomben course neighbours another thoroughbred venue called the Eagle Farm Racecourse and can be accessed via car, train or bus. Together with Eagle Farm, these courses are considered the two major racecourses in South East Queensland, and can be seen sharing irrigation systems and some of Brisbane Racings feature events. This racecourse underwent its last major reconstruction in 1996 which primarily included major changes to the racing turf and its surrounding structures. The Thoroughbred is a horse breed best known for its use in horse racing. The Brisbane Racing Club (BRC) is an Australian horse racing organization based in Brisbane in the state of Queensland. The head office of the club is located at 230 Lancaster Road in Ascot. History The Brisbane Racing Club was founded on 1 July 2009 by a merger of the Queensland Turf Club and the Brisbane Turf Club (BTC). The club conducted 98 race meetings in 2012. The consolidation of the race clubs was the first of its kind in Australia as later other metropolitan race clubs would follow their initiative. Eagle Farm Racecourse
Eagle Farm Racecourse is a heritage-listed horse racing venue in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It is located at the northern end of Racecourse Road in the suburb of Ascot, from the Brisbane central business district. The turf track is wide, with a circumference of and a home straight of . Brazen Beau
Brazen Beau (foaled 24 September 2011) is a multiple Group 1 winning Australian thoroughbred racehorse, and current successful stallion. Background Brazen Beau was bred in Canberra by Group 1 winning jockey and trainer Bernie Howlett. Howlett won the Group 1 Sydney Cup as a jockey in 1959 aboard On Line and the 1961 Cup with Sharply. As a trainer he won the 1996 Doomben 10,000 with Suntain. Howlett raced and owned Brazen Beau's mother Sansadee who won three races, with her best result a third placing in the 2003 Black Opal Stakes behind Handsome Ransom and Exceed And Excel. Howlett decided to support Yarraman Park Stud's first season sire I Am Invincible and sent his mare Sansadee to the stallion. After Brazen Beau was born he was sold by Howlett for $70,000 at the 2013 Inglis Classic Yearling sale.
