Chamois Niortais Football Club (; often referred to as ''Les Chamois'', Chamois Niortais, or simply Niort) are a Football in France, French association football club based in the commune of Niort, in the Deux-Sèvres department of Nouvelle-Aquitaine in southwestern France. They were founded in 1925 by Charles Boinot, the son of the owner of a local chamois leather factory. Their home stadium is the Stade René Gaillard in Niort, which has a capacity of 10,898, although in the last 20 years attendances have generally averaged below 5,000 per match due to the club's relatively small fan base. Chamois Niortais has traditionally played in an entirely blue kit (association football), home strip, although away strips regularly differ. Chamois
The chamois (; ) (''Rupicapra rupicapra'') or Alpine chamois is a species of Caprinae, goat-antelope native to the mountains in Southern Europe, from the Pyrenees, the Alps, the Apennines, the Dinarides, the Tatra Mountains, Tatra to the Carpathian Mountains, the Balkan Mountains, the Rila–Rhodope Mountains, Rhodope massif, Pindus, the northeastern mountains of Turkey, and the Caucasus. It has also been introduced to the South Island of New Zealand. Some subspecies of chamois are strictly protected in the EU under the European Habitats Directive. Kazimir Hnatow
Kazimir (or Casimir) Hnatow (9 November 1929 – 16 December 2010) was a French football player and manager. Club career A midfielder, Hnatow began his career at Metz in 1951, where he spent two seasons, making 56 appearances and scoring ten goals. In 1953, he joined Stade Français. He spent three seasons at the Parisian club, making 29 appearances and scoring nine goals. He then joined Angers in 1956, and in the following year, he was a runner-up in the Coupe de France final, losing 6–3 to Toulouse. He made 243 appearances and scored 19 goals for the Pays de la Loire-based team. He then ended his career in a player-coach role at Chamois Niortais. Nicolas Hibst
Nicolas Hibst (12 October 1915 – 21 January 1959) was a French association football player and manager. During his career, he played in Division 1 and Division 2 with FC Metz and AS Saint-Étienne and was part of the Metz side which lost the 1938 Coupe de France final. His first foray into coaching came when he took charge of Division 1 side Metz in 1946. After just one season, he left to manage Lens where he guided the Division 2 outfit to the 1948 Coupe de France final and to the Division 2 championship the following season. Maurice Banide (20 May 1905 – 20 May 1995) was a professional French football player and manager. He played as a midfielder and was part of the Racing Club Paris side that won the Division 1 and Coupe de France double in 1936, as well as winning the Coupe de France in 1939 and 1940.
