Chaingang (band)
Chaingang (sometimes listed as CHAINGANG) are a female-fronted punk/rock band from Sydney, Australia. Biography Chaingang formed in 2007 following the dissolution of Hayley Foster and Mike Jeffery's former band Pinky Tuscadero on New Year's Eve 2006. Cultivating a rapt cult following across Sydney, the band first came to widespread attention when they were personally chosen by US band Panic! at the Disco to support them during their 2008 Australian tour. A demo version of one of their first tracks, Get Off My Stage, attracted widespread attention via tastemaking music blogs across the UK, US and Australia, and saw the band selected by national youth broadcaster Triple J as an Unearthed Feature Artist in 2008. Ladyhawke (musician)
Phillipa Margaret "Pip" Brown (born 13 July 1979), better known by her stage name Ladyhawke, is a New Zealand singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. She took her stage name from Richard Donner's 1985 film '' Ladyhawke''. Brown was part of the Wellington-based band Two Lane Blacktop (2001–2003), before moving to Australia where, in 2004, she formed the art rock band Teenager with Nick Littlemore of Pnau. In 2007 she moved to London, afterwards relocating to Los Angeles around 2013, and then subsequently relocating back to her native New Zealand after the release of her third album, Wild Things. Brown's debut solo album, '' Ladyhawke'', was released on 22 September 2008 through Modular Recordings, and topped the RIANZ Albums Chart. Sean Ray is an American-Australian rapper, producer and musician based in Sydney, Australia. Biography Sean Ray Mullins, known by his alias Snob Scrilla, was born in Clovis, California where he attended Buchanan High School. After moving to Australia and making a hometown of Katoomba, New South Wales, it was whilst living in Newcastle that Ray began making music. This was followed by a relocation to Sydney. His popularity amongst Australian Indie crowds is largely due to his debut single in 2008 titled "There You Go Again". Operator Please were an Australian pop band, originating in the Gold Coast, Queensland, in 2005. Their final line-up consisted of vocalist and guitarist Amandah Wilkinson, drummer Tim Commandeur, keyboardist Chris Holland, bassist Ashley McConnell and violinist Taylor Henderson. The Grates were an Australian indie rock band that formed in Brisbane, Queensland in 2002. They were brought to national attention in 2004 when a demo of their single "Trampoline" received airplay on radio station Triple J. Crystal Castles (band)
Crystal Castles was a Canadian electronic music group formed in 2006 in Toronto, Ontario, formed by songwriter-producer Ethan Kath and singer-songwriter Alice Glass, who later left and was replaced by Edith Frances. Crystal Castles were known for their chaotic live shows and lo-fi melancholic homemade productions. They released many limited vinyl singles between 2006 and 2007 before releasing four studio albums between 2008 and 2016. Glass announced her departure from the band in October 2014, citing personal and professional reasons.
