Chaikyne, Chernihiv Oblast
Chaikyne () is a village located in the Novhorod-Siverskyi Raion (district) in Chernihiv Oblast of northern Ukraine. It forms part of Novhorod-Siverskyi urban hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. History On 12 June 2020, in accordance with the decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 730-r "On the determination of administrative centers and approval of the territories of territorial communities of Chernihiv Oblast", Chaikyne became part of the Novhorod-Siverskyi urban hromada. On 17 July 2020, as a result of the administrative-territorial reform, the village retained its place in Novhorod-Siverskyi Raion, which became larger in area. Chernihiv Oblast (), also referred to as Chernihivshchyna (), is an administrative divisions of Ukraine, oblast (province) in northern Ukraine. Raions were created in a 1922 administrative reform of the Soviet Union, to which Ukraine, as the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic, belonged. Novhorod-Siverskyi Raion
Novhorod-Siverskyi Raion () is a raion (district) of Chernihiv Oblast, northern Ukraine. Its administrative centre is located at Novhorod-Siverskyi. Population: On 18 July 2020, as part of the administrative reform of Ukraine, the number of raions of Chernihiv Oblast was reduced to five, and the area of Novhorod-Siverskyi Raion was significantly expanded. Two abolished raions, Korop and Semenivka Raions, as well as the city of Novhorod-Siverskyi, which was previously incorporated as a city of oblast significance and did not belong to the raion, were merged into Novhorod-Siverskyi Raion. Novhorod-Siverskyi urban territorial hromada () is one of the hromadas of Ukraine, located in Novhorod-Siverskyi Raion within Chernihiv Oblast. Its capital is the city of Novhorod-Siverskyi. The hromada has a total area of , as well as a population of 34,725 (). Prior to its current state, Novhorod-Siverskyi urban hromada was founded on 31 August 2018 as an amalgamated hromada.
