Chadstone
Chadstone is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, south-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Monash local government area. Chadstone recorded a population of 9,552 at the 2021 census. Landmarks include the Waverley Basketball Centre, Jordanville Community Centre and the Matthew Flinders Hotel. Scotchmans Creek runs along Chadstone's southern boundary, the Glen Waverley railway line along the northern boundary, Warrigal Road to the west and Huntingdale Road to the east. The Monash Freeway runs through the suburb. History Many of the houses in the Chadstone area were built in the postwar period using prefabricated concrete produced at the current site of Holmesglen Institute. Chadstone Shopping Centre
Chadstone Shopping Centre (colloquially known as Chaddy) is a super regional shopping centre located in the south-eastern Melbourne suburb of Malvern East. Chadstone Shopping Centre is the biggest shopping centre in Australia and one of the biggest in the Southern Hemisphere (likely only second to Centro Comercial Aricanduva in South America). The centre opened on 3 October 1960 and was the first self-contained regional shopping centre in Melbourne. Monash Freeway
The Monash Freeway is a major urban freeway in Victoria, Australia, linking Melbourne's CBD to its south-eastern suburbs and beyond to the Gippsland region. Chadstone High School
Chadstone High School (State School number 7710) was a former Victorian Government high school, located in the Melbourne suburb of Chadstone. Chadstone High School was often referred to as "Chaddy High". History The school was established in the late 1950s in what was then a rapidly growing outer-suburban area. It initially operated out of demountable classrooms until a purpose-built three storey school building was finished in the early 1960s. The RK Senior Hall (named after one of the school's principals) was constructed in the 1970s. It was established adjacent to the Chadstone Park Primary School. Warrigal Road
Warrigal Road is a major inner urban road in southeastern Melbourne, Australia. On weekdays, it is heavily trafficked as it runs through many major suburbs along its route, traversing some of Melbourne's eastern and south-eastern suburbs. Malvern East is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 13 km south-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Stonnington local government area. Malvern East recorded a population of 22,296 at the 2021 census. Holmesglen Institute is a vocational education and higher education institute situated primarily in the South-Eastern suburbs of Melbourne, Australia. History Since its inception in 1982, Holmesglen has grown from a delivery of 90 programs to 7,000 students, to its current offering of over 600 programs to more than 50,000 students. Oakleigh is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia 14 km south-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Monash local government area.
