Jean Chabot
Jean Chabot (October 15, 1806 – May 31, 1860) was a lawyer, political figure and judge from Canada East, in the Province of Canada. He supported Louis-Hippolyte LaFontaine's policy of responsible government within the framework of the union of Lower Canada and Upper Canada into the Province of Canada. Chabot served twice as Chief Commissioner of Public Works with a seat in the Executive Council. In addition to his government work, Chabot worked hard to represent the interests of his constituents, with a particular emphasis on relieving poverty. He was one of the founders of the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul in Lower Canada. Chabot was married but did not have children. He had a reputation as an alcoholic and at one point had to resign from the Executive Council due to an arrest for public drunkenness. Chabot Museum
The Chabot Museum () is a museum dedicated to the Dutch painter and sculptor Hendrik (Henk) Chabot in Rotterdam in the Netherlands. The museum is housed in a monumental villa in the Museumpark, near the Museum Boijmans van Beuningen and the Netherlands Architecture Institute. History The museum opened in 1993. As of 2016 the Chabot Museum awards the Hendrik Chabot Prijs, an award for visual arts, which was originally created by the Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds. Building The Chabot Museum is located at the Museumpark in Rotterdam Centrum, between the Netherlands Architecture Institute and the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen. It is housed in a white villa designed in 1938 for C. H. Kraaijeveld in the style of New Objectivity. Thomas Chabot ( ; born January 30, 1997) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman and alternate captain for the Ottawa Senators of the National Hockey League (NHL). Chabot was drafted in the first round (18th overall) by the Senators in the 2015 NHL entry draft. In January 2017, Chabot became the first defenceman to be named the most valuable player of the World Junior Championships. Paul Chabot (born March 19, 1974) is an American businessman, author, public speaker, former law enforcement officer, adjunct professor, and Commander of Naval Intelligence with the United States Navy Reserve. Chabot formerly served as a White House senior policy advisor on law enforcement for President George W. Bush, and prior was a Presidential Management Fellow. Laurent Edward Chabot (October 5, 1900 – October 10, 1946) was a Canadian professional ice hockey player. Chabot played in the National Hockey League (NHL) from 1926 to 1937. He was a member of two Stanley Cup championship teams, the New York Rangers in 1928, and the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1932. Chabot also played for the Montreal Canadiens, Chicago Black Hawks, Montreal Maroons, and New York Americans. Chabot won the Vezina Trophy in 1934–35 for allowing the fewest goals against. John Léo Chabot, (February 23, 1869 – December 8, 1936) was a Canadian parliamentarian and surgeon. Biography Born in Ottawa, Ontario, the son of Pierre-Hyacinthe Chabot and Margaret Ethier, he was educated at the University of Ottawa and McGill University and practised medicine in Ottawa. Chabot was defeated in his attempt to win election as a Conservative from Ottawa in the 1908 federal election and again in a 1910 by-election. He was elected as one of two MPs in the multi-member constituency in 1911 and would serve until as Conservative and Unionist MP until his defeat in 1926. Chabot was commander for the Ottawa General Military Base Hospital during World War I. John David Chabot (born May 18, 1962) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player and coach. He played in the National Hockey League (NHL) from 1983 to 1991, and then played in Europe from 1991 until retiring in 2001.
