Ceres High School is located in the city of Ceres, California, Ceres, which is located in the central San Joaquin Valley, 80 miles south of Sacramento and 95 miles east of San Francisco, in the heart of Stanislaus County. Background Ceres High is one of two traditional high school in the district. Built in 1908, it is fed by three junior high schools and seven elementary schools. The ethnic trend of increased numbers of Hispanic students continues, with 48.4% of students Hispanic, 35% White Person, White, 2.4% African-American, 2.7% Native Americans in the United States, American Indian, 7.8% Asian-American, .6% Pacific Islander, and 1.0% Filipino-American. The number of students qualifying for free or reduced lunch continues to climb to 47% - a 4% increase. The number of English Language learners increased significantly over the past three years. Ceres, California
Ceres is a city in Stanislaus County, California. Its population was 49,302 at the 2020 U.S. Census, up from 45,417 at the 2010 U.S. Census. It is part of the Modesto metropolitan statistical area. Ceres is located in the San Joaquin Valley along State Route 99, south of Modesto and north of Turlock in Stanislaus County. Ceres is named after the Roman goddess of agriculture. The newspaper in Ceres is called the ''Ceres Courier'', which has been in publication since 1910. The offices of the ''Ceres Courier'' were relocated from an address in downtown Ceres in 2012. It has since combined day-to-day operations with its sister paper, the ''Turlock Journal'', in Turlock. Jeff Benziger was appointed editor in 1987. The city also has a Spanish-language paper. Ceres hosts annual events at different times of the year. Spring brings the Ceres Street Faire on the first weekend in May.
