"Cerasella" is a 1959 Canzone Napoletana song composed by Enzo Bonagura, Danpa (Dante Pinzauti) and Eros Sciorilli. The song, with a double performance by Gloria Christian and Wilma De Angelis, was presented at the seventh edition of the Festival di Napoli and then got an immediate commercial success, peaking at sixth place on the Italian hit parade. Gloria Christian (born 24 June 1934) is an Italian Canzone Napoletana singer, mainly successful between the second half of the 1950s and the 1960s. Life and career Born in Bologna, the daughter of a Neapoletan trumpeter and of a Venetian mother, at early age Christian moved with her family to Naples, where she graduated at the Istituto Magistrale Pimentel Forseca. Shani Wallis (born 14 April 1933) is a British actress and singer, who has worked in theatre, film, and television in both her native United Kingdom and in the United States. The Federazione Industria Musicale Italiana (FIMI) is an umbrella organization that keeps track of virtually all aspects of the music recording industry in Italy. It was established in 1992, when major corporate labels left the previously existing Associazione dei Fonografici Italiani (AFI). During the following years, most of the remaining Italian record labels left AFI to join the new organisation. As of 2011, FIMI represents 2,500 companies operating in the music business. Roberto Murolo
Roberto Murolo (19 January 1912 – 13 March 2003) was an Italian musician. Career Born in Naples, Italy as the son of poet Ernesto Murolo and Lia Cavalli, Murolo showed a began singing and playing the guitar as a child. Murolo won the Italian high diving championship in 1937, and attributed his remarkable lung capacity to the long practice of water sports. At the age of 24 he founded with three friends the "Midas Quartet" (Quartetto Mida), a jazz quartet, with which he performed away from Italy from 1939 through 1946. His solo career, focused almost exclusively on Neapolitan song, traditional and popular songs, began with his return to Italy in 1946. Raffaello Matarazzo (17 August 1909 – 17 May 1966) was an Italian filmmaker. Life Matarazzo started writing film reviews for the Roman newspaper ''Il Tevere'' before re-editing scripts for the Italian film company Cines. His first films were comedies until he shifted to making melodramas. With '' Catene'', produced by Titanus in 1949, he became the most successful director in Italy. Audience loved his melodramas. Fausto Cigliano
Fausto Cigliano (15 February 1937 – 17 February 2022) was an Italian singer, guitarist, and actor. Life and career Born in Naples into a humble family, Cigliano approached the music at young age, after having received a guitar as a gift, and he made his record debut in 1953. Cigliano became first known thanks to his participation to the Napoli Music Festival, that he later won in 1959, in couple with Teddy Reno with the song "Sarrà... chi sà". In 1957 he ranked first at the Italian hit parade with the single "Che m'ha 'mparato a fa'". Between 1959 and 1964 he was entered into the main competition at the Sanremo Music Festival five times. In the second half of the 1950s he also appeared in several comedy films. In 1976, Cigliano graduated in guitar at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome.
