Centralia College Of Agricultural Technology
Centralia College of Agricultural Technology was an agricultural college in Huron Park, Ontario near the town of Exeter. It opened in 1967 and operated under the direction of the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture and Food. The college used local farms, rather than a demonstration farm for field laboratories, in order to gain the cooperation of local farmers. The college was closed due to provincial government cutbacks in the 1993 budget. It closed in the spring of 1994. The college originally provided diplomas in Agricultural Business Management, Animal Health Technology, Food Service Management, and Home Economics. At the time of its closing, Centralia had the only veterinary technician course which was accredited by the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association. Exeter is a community in the municipality of South Huron, in the southern portion of Huron County, Ontario, Canada, located approximately 40 kilometres north of London. The community proclaims itself the "Home of the White Squirrel", owing to the presence of the unusually-coloured mammals. Exeter's mascot, "Willis The White Wonder", can be seen at many community events throughout the year, including Canada Day celebrations, the Exeter Rodeo, and the Santa Claus Parade. History Exeter was first settled in the winter of 1832 by the Irish settlers James and Jane Willis. Bev Shipley
Beverly Shipley (born June 22, 1947) is a retired Canadian politician in Ontario who served as the Member of Parliament for the riding of Lambton—Kent—Middlesex from 2006 to 2019 as a member of the Conservative Party. Shipley ran in the 2004 election for the Conservatives in Lambton—Kent—Middlesex but lost to incumbent Rose-Marie Ur of the Liberal Party of Canada by only 164 votes. Shipley won the seat in 2006 after Ur did not seek re-election, and was re-elected in 2008, 2011, and 2015.
