Central Prison Peshawar
Central Prison Peshawar is a jail located in Peshawar in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. The jail is located next to important buildings such as the Peshawar High Court and the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. History The Central Prison Peshawar was established in 1884 with a capacity of 450 prisoners. Anti-terrorism measures After 2014 Peshawar school massacre further security measures were taken to fend off terrorism attacks. A steel wall was built around the premises of prison and elite forces were called to strengthen the security. Osama bin Laden (10 March 19572 May 2011) was a militant leader who was the founder and first general emir of al-Qaeda. Fazal Hayat (1974 – 15 June 2018), more commonly known by his pseudonym Mullah Fazlullah (Pashto/), was an Islamist jihadist militant who was the leader of the Tehreek-e-Nafaz-e-Shariat-e-Mohammadi, and was the leader of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan in Swat District, Swat Valley. Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan
The Pakistani Taliban, officially the Tehreek-i-Taliban-e-Pakistan (TTP), is an umbrella organization of various Islamist armed militant groups operating along the Afghan–Pakistani border. Formed in 2007 by Baitullah Mehsud, its current leader is Noor Wali Mehsud, who has publicly pledged allegiance to the Taliban (Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan). The Pakistani Taliban share a common ideology with the Afghan Taliban and have assisted them in the 2001–2021 war, but the two groups have separate operation and command structures. Sufi Muhammad bin Alhazrat Hassan (Urdu: ; born 1933 – 11 July 2019) was a Pakistani Sunni Salafi cleric and militant, and the founder of Tehreek-e-Nafaz-e-Shariat-e-Mohammadi (TNSM), a militant group (declared a terrorist outfit and banned in 2002) vying for implementation of Sharia in Pakistan. Shakil Afridi
Shakil Afridi (), or Shakeel Afridi, is a Pakistani physician who allegedly helped the CIA run a fake hepatitis vaccine program in Abbottabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan, in order to confirm Osama bin Laden's presence in the city by obtaining DNA samples. Details of his activities emerged during the Pakistani investigation of the deadly raid on bin Laden's residence. This account is disputed in a recent account of events which implies Afridi was implicated as a cover for the real CIA operative. Afridi was arrested at the Torkham while trying to flee the country days after the raid.
