Central Oklahoma Bronchos Football
The Central Oklahoma Bronchos football team represents the University of Central Oklahoma (UCO) in college football. The team is a member of the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA), which is in Division II of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). The Bronchos (pronounced Broncos) football program began in 1902 and has since compiled over 600 wins, two national championships, and 28 conference championships. As of 2022, the Bronchos are ranked fifth in NCAA Division II for wins. In 1962, the Bronchos went 11–0 on the season and defeated Lenoir–Rhyne University (NC) 28–13 in the Camellia Bowl to claim its first NAIA national championship. The University of Central Oklahoma (UCO) is a public university in Edmond, Oklahoma, United States. It is the third largest university in Oklahoma, with almost 13,000 students and approximately 430 full-time and 400 adjunct faculty. The Oklahoma State Cowboys football program represents Oklahoma State University in college football. The team is a member of the Big 12 Conference and competes at the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision level. The Cowboys are led by Mike Gundy, who is in his 21st year as head coach. The Haskell Fighting Indians football team represented the Haskell Institute, later known as Haskell Indian Nations University, in college football. They fielded their first football team in 1895. From the late 19th century and continuing through the early 1930s, Haskell's football program regularly scheduled games against regional and national powers and became known as the "Powerhouse of the West". Boyd Hill
Boyd Almon Hill (September 16, 1878 – December 31, 1908) was an American college football and college basketball coach. He served as the head football coach at Central State Normal School—now known as the University of Central Oklahoma—in 1904, the Haskell Institute—now known as Haskell Indian Nations University—in 1905, and Oklahoma Agricultural and Mechanical College—now known as Oklahoma State University–Stillwater—from 1906 to 1907, compiling a career college football coaching record of 9–16–4. Hill was also the head basketball coach at Oklahoma A&M for one season in 1907–08, tallying a mark of 2–3. Hill was born on September 16, 1878, in Harlem, Illinois and graduated from high school in Belvidere, Illinois. He entered the United States Military Academy in 1899, but left in 1902 due to illness. Colorado Mesa University (CMU or Mesa) is a public university in Grand Junction, Colorado, United States. The Camellia Bowl was an annual college football postseason game in Sacramento, California, which is nicknamed the ''Camellia City''.
