Central Jail (Kathmandu)
Central Jail (, ''Kendriya Karagar'') is the largest prison facility of Nepal. It was established in . It is located near Newroad of central Kathmandu. The jail is also called ''Bhadragol jail'' (भद्रगोल कारागार). To the east of the jail lies office of the drinking water corporation, Bhotebahal in the west, office of Kathmandu metropolitan in the north. This jail occupies an area of 42 ropanies (about 2.2 hectare). Inside the compound lies Bhadra Jail, Women Jail and Central Jail. There are nine blocks in the central jail, three blocks in Bhadra jail and three in the women jail. In , a hospital was also set up inside the jail for inmates. There is a small textile factory with 74 machines inside the jail. The jail which has capacity for 1250 inmates but it hosts 2,750 prisoners including 350 foreign prisoners. Nuwakot District
Nuwakot District (), a part of Bagmati Province, is one of the List of districts of Nepal, seventy-seven districts of Nepal. The district, with Bidur as its district headquarters, covers an area of and had a population of 288,478 in 2001 and 277,471 in 2011. The district contains places of historical significance such as the town of Nuwakot, Nuwakot, Nuwakot, and the village of Devighat (the death place of Prithvi Narayan Shah) located at the confluence of the Tadi and Trishuli Rivers. Durgananda Jha
Durgananda Jha () was a Nepalese democratic fighter who attempted to assassinate King Mahendra of Nepal in January 1962 (9 Magh 2018 BS) in Janakpur in southeastern Nepal. Durga was captured after he threw a bomb on a motor-vehicle carrying the king. He managed to throw the bomb amid strict security and presence of thousands of army and police at the Janaki Temple premises in Janakpur during the king's visit to the eastern Terai. He was hanged in 2020 BS Magh 15 (February 1964) at Central Jail, Kathmandu. He was born at Jatahi, Janakpur. Jha was a member of Nepali Congress. Charles Sobhraj
Charles Sobhraj (born Hotchand Bhawnani Gurmukh Sobhraj; 6 April 1944) is a French serial killer, fraudster, and thief whose victims were mainly Western tourists travelling on the hippie trail of South Asia during the 1970s. He was known as the Bikini Killer because of the attire of several of his victims, as well as the Splitting Killer and the Serpent for "his snake-like ability to avoid detection by authorities". It is thought that Sobhraj murdered at least 20 tourists in South and Southeast Asia, including 14 in Thailand. He was convicted and jailed in India from 1976 to 1997. After his release he returned to France. Sobhraj went to Nepal in 2003, where he was arrested, tried, and given a life sentence. Ram Prasad Rai ( Nepali: रामप्रसाद राई) (born March 1, 1909 – unknown) was a Nepali revolutionary, guerrilla leader, military theorist and organizer of the Liberation Army in East part of Nepal. Rai was a major figure of Nepal's Revolution of 1951. Following the Revolution, Rai never accepted the outcome of the revolution and continued fighting against the Ranas. A Judamani (Hindi: चूडामणि) is a lotus-shaped Indian headdress that is usually studded with jewels. It is worn in the center of a knot of hair.
