CNA (previously named the CNA Corporation), fully as The Center for Naval Analyses, is a federally-funded nonprofit research and analysis organization based in Arlington County, Virginia, USA. It has around 625 employees. History CNA traces its origins to the Antisubmarine Warfare Operations Group (ASWORG), formed in 1942 to assist the U.S. Navy with scientific advice for finding and attacking U-boats that were sinking commercial ships off the Atlantic coast of North America. Massachusetts Institute of Technology physics Professor Philip M. Morse founded ASWORG at the request of Capt. Wilder D. Baker, then commander of the Antisubmarine Warfare Unit of the Atlantic Fleet. Carol Graham (born January 29, 1962) is the Leo Pasvolsky Senior Fellow at the Brookings Institution, a College Park professor at the School of Public Policy at the University of Maryland, a research fellow at the Institute for the Study of Labor (IZA), and the author of numerous books, papers and edited volume chapters. Maura Ann Harty (born 1959) is an American diplomat. She was United States Assistant Secretary of State for Consular Affairs from November 21, 2002, to February 29, 2008. She was a career member of the Senior Foreign Service. She was then the President and CEO of the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the Make a Wish Foundation. In November 2014, Harty was appointed President & CEO of the International Centre for Missing & Exploited Children (ICMEC). Biography Harty is a native of Staten Island, New York.
