Centennial Cup 1976
The 1976 Centennial Cup is the sixth Tier II Junior "A" 1976 ice hockey National Championship for the Canadian Junior A Hockey League. The Centennial Cup was competed for by the winners of the Western Canadian Champions and the Eastern Canadian Champions. The finals were hosted by the Rockland Nationals in the city of Rockland, Ontario. Rockland, Ontario
Rockland is a bilingual community located about east of downtown Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, part of the city of Clarence-Rockland. Rockland has a population of 13,625 (2021), making up roughly half the population of the municipality. It is home to a large part of the francophone community in Eastern Ontario along with the towns situated to the east and the Ottawa suburb of Orleans to the west. It was a separate town until January 1, 1998, when it amalgamated with Clarence Township to form the City of Clarence-Rockland. History The Clarence region began growing in 1840 with the development of the road from L'Orignal to Bytown. Before then, farmers relentlessly cleared wooded space to be able to cultivate land, their only means of survival. Central Junior A Hockey League
The Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL; French: ''Ligue de hockey du Canada centrale'', LHCC) is a Junior A ice hockey league in North America composed of 12 teams – all around the National Capital Region. The CCHL is one of the nine Junior A leagues across Canada and is considered as the most successful and highest level of Junior A hockey compared to all the other eight leagues across the country. The Bogart Cup, the oldest junior ice hockey sports trophy in Canada, is awarded annually to the league playoff champion at the end of each season. The Canadian Hockey League (CHL) views the Bogart Cup as one of the "most important championships available to the sport". The CCHL is headquartered in Ottawa, Ontario. The Central Canada Hockey League is sanctioned by Hockey Eastern Ontario and Hockey Canada, and is a member of the Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL). OPJHL
The Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) is a Junior A ice hockey league in Ontario, Canada. It is under the supervision of the Ontario Hockey Association (OHA) and the Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL). The league dates back to 1954 where it began as the "Central Junior B Hockey League". In 1993, the Central Junior B Hockey League was promoted to the Junior A level and renamed the "Ontario Provincial Junior A Hockey League". In 2009, the league was dissolved by the Ontario Hockey Association and split into two leagues: the "Central Canadian Hockey League" and the "Ontario Junior A Hockey League". By early 2010, the two leagues merged to reform the Ontario Junior Hockey League. At its peak, the league was composed of 37 teams and is now mostly based in the Greater Toronto Area with a few teams eastward towards Kingston, Ontario, Kingston.
