Provinces are constituent Polity, political entities of Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe currently has ten provinces, two of which are City, cities with provincial status. Zimbabwe is a unitary state, and its provinces exercise only the powers that the central government chooses to delegate. Masvingo (Zimbabwe)
Masvingo, previously named Victoria, is a province in southeastern Zimbabwe. It has a population of 1.638 million as of the 2022 census, ranking fifth out of Zimbabwe's ten provinces. Established by the British South Africa Company, it was one of the five original provinces of Southern Rhodesia. In 1982, two years after Zimbabwean independence, it was renamed Masvingo Province. The province is divided into seven districts, including Masvingo District, which contains the provincial capital Masvingo City. Chiredzi (District)
A district in Zimbabwe, Masvingo Province Chiredzi found in the district, is one of a number of centers for HIV/AIDS treatment in the province. The district's Hippo Valley Hospital is one of a number of centers for HIV/AIDS treatment in the province. The district is famous for hosting Hippo Valley Estate and the nearby Mkwasine Estate, both of which specialize in sugar cane and citrus fruit production. Geography A large chunk of the district is found in region V, although there are some parts that lie in region IV. Areas in region five are characterized by aridity and uncertain rainfall patterns. Many parts of the district are unfit for agriculture, hence in 1972 they set aside to form Gonarezhou National Park. Mashonaland Central is a province of Zimbabwe. It is divided into eight districts and has an area of 28,347 km2 and a population of 1,384,891 (2012 census), representing about 9.1% of the total Zimbabwe population. Centenary, Zimbabwe
Centenary is a township in Mashonaland Central province in Zimbabwe. On June 21, 2001, Centenary was a pilgrimage for those who wanted to see the total solar eclipse, as it was one of the few areas of Zimbabwe that witnessed it. Economy Centenary is relatively a young agricultural district of Zimbabwe. It was opened up from virgin bush in 1952 primarily for the production of tobacco. The aromatic qualities of this tobacco made it a prominent growing area. Tobacco contributed to the development of roads, schools, clinics and the later building of administrative buildings in Centenary Township. The town is controlled by the Muzarabani Rural District Council which is headed by the Chief executive officer of the council. The council collects levies from farmers and different business people to fund its activities and improve amenities in the area.
