Cenci Journalism Project
Cenci Journalism Project (), founded in 2011, is the first new media in Mainland China that uses multi-lingual and global perspectives to continuously cover marginalized topics. Cenci was founded by five graduates from Beijing Foreign Studies University, including Xia Kang and Zhe Qu, on August 6, 2011. The goal of Cenci was to eliminate the language barriers in news reading, create an alternative reading perspective in visualized reports, and provide sources for comparative news. Its founders wished to tie understanding of news closer to truth. When the website was first launched, Cenci’s slogan was “Same Events, Diversified reports”, which was modified to “Any Language, Any Perspective, Anything Cenci”. As Cenci transitioned into version 3.0, the new slogan was set to be “Reporting another Dimension of the World”. Mainland China
"Mainland China" is a geopolitical term defined as the territory governed by the People's Republic of China (including islands like Hainan or Chongming), excluding dependent territories of the PRC, and other territories within Greater China. Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference
The Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC, zh, 中国人民政治协商会议), also known as the People's PCC (, ) or simply the PCC (), is a political advisory body in the People's Republic of China and a central part of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)'s United Front system. Its members advise and put proposals for political and social issues to government bodies. However, the CPPCC is a body without real legislative power. While consultation does take place, it is supervised and directed by the CCP. The body traditionally consists of delegates from the CCP and its front organizations, eight legally-permitted political parties subservient to the CCP, as well as nominally independent members. The China Times
The ''China Times'' (, abbr. ) is a daily Chinese-language newspaper published in Taiwan. It is one of the four largest newspapers in Taiwan. It is owned by Want Want, which also owns TV stations CTV and CTiTV. History The ''China Times'' was founded in February 1950 under the name ''Credit News'' (), and focused mainly on price indices. Stuart Ramsay is a British journalist who is currently Sky News’ Chief Correspondent. He is Sky's longest serving foreign correspondent. He graduated from the University of East Anglia in 1985. Mark Kitto
Mark Kitto is a British entrepreneur, magazine publisher, writer and actor notable for investing and living in the People's Republic of China. During his time in China he initially lived in Shanghai before relocating to Mount Mogan where he ran a coffee shop, restaurant and three guest houses. RIA Novosti (russian: РИА Новости), sometimes referred to as RIAN () or RIA (russian: РИА, label=none) is a Russian state-owned domestic news agency. On 9 December 2013 by a decree of Vladimir Putin it was liquidated and its assets and workforce were transferred to the newly created Rossiya Segodnya agency. Caixin Media () is a Chinese news website based in Beijing known for investigative journalism. Caixin means "New Fortune" in Chinese. Structure The founder and publisher is Hu Shuli, a former Knight Fellow in journalism at Stanford University, and an honorary doctorate degree recipient from Princeton University. Wang Shuo (, born August 23, 1958) is a Chinese author, director, actor, and cultural icon. He has written over 20 novels, television series and movies. His work has been translated into Japanese, Spanish, French, English, Italian, Hindi, and many other languages. He has enormous cultural status in China and has become a nationally celebrated author. Background Wang Shuo grew up in an army compound in Beijing. His family was of Manchu ancestry. When he was an adolescent, his parents were sent to the countryside as part of the Cultural Revolution, leaving him and his brother alone in Beijing among other children whose parents were also away. Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU; ), is a public university in Beijing, China. BFSU boasts the oldest language programs in China offering the largest number of foreign language majors on different educational levels.
