Cemento Club
Cemento was an Argentine nightclub, used for rock concerts. It was opened in 1985, and it was closed in 2004. History Omar Chabán had a nightclub named "Café Einstein", which was closed several times. He opened a new one with his wife Katja Alemann, which was meant to be open in 1984, but the inauguration was delayed because the girder was broken during the construction. Cemento was finally opened on June 28, 1985. Alemann appeared costumed as a Valkyrie in the inauguration, including a chariot with horses. Initially, Cemento worked as a discothèque, an underground theater and a rock concert hall. In time, it became mainly a rock concert hall. Chabán still used as a theater for his own plays, during the days of the week. Almost all notable musicians of Argentine rock played in Cemento at some point, with the exception of Charly García. Catupecu Machu is an Argentine rock band, usually classified as within Rock en Español. Its current band members are Fernando Ruiz Díaz on vocals and guitar; Charlie Noguera on bass guitar; Agustín Rocino and Julian Gondell on drums; and Macabre González on keyboards and samplers. Biography The band started as a power trio in the Villa Luro neighborhood, Buenos Aires, in 1994. It all started when the Ruiz brothers decided to establish a band. As music lovers they already knew how to play the guitar and bass. All they needed was a drummer, so they recruited Marcelo Baraj (who currently plays in Totus Toss). Los Violadores
Los Violadores (Spanish: ''The Rapists'') is an Argentine punk rock band which pioneered the genre in Latin America. History Los Violadores ("The Violators", referring to 'breaking the law', as mentioned in one of their songs, "Violadores de la Ley") was founded in Buenos Aires in 1981 by guitarist Hari "B" (born Pedro Braun). The rest of the band included Stuka (bass), Pil Trafa (vocals) and Sergio Gramatika (drums). In their first years, sometimes they had to perform under the name of ''Los Voladores'' ("The Flying Ones") because the censorship of the military government did not allow the original name of "Los Violadores". El Otro Yo (, "The Other Me") is an Argentinean alternative rock band. They made their debut in the late '80s / early '90s, with a demo tape called Los Hijos de Alien, followed by Traka-Traka. Later on, the group founded its own label, Besotico Records. From the beginnings in Temperley to Abrecaminos (1988–1999) El Otro Yo formed in the late 1980s/early 1990s in Temperley, in the south of Greater Buenos Aires. At the age of five, Humberto Cristian and María Fernanda Aldana started playing music at home with their father's classical guitar (he was a bolero and tango singer in old bars) and a GEM organ. Callejeros
Callejeros (streetwise or stray dogs) was an Argentine rock band that gained international notoriety when the nightclub where they were playing, República Cromañon, was set on fire during one of its shows, killing 194 attendees, in 2004. History The band was formed in mid-1995 by a group of young people of Villa Celina, Greater Buenos Aires. They were known initially as ''Río Verde'' ("Green River") and mostly played covers of Chuck Berry, Creedence Clearwater Revival and Patricio Rey y sus Redonditos de Ricota. At the end of 1996 the band changed its lineup and recruited new members. Given the extensive change to the original group, in January 1997, they changed their name to ''Callejeros''.
