Cecilie Manz
Cecilie Manz (born 1972) is a Danish industrial designer. In November 2017, Manz was awarded designer of the year in the Design Awards by Bo bedre, Costume Living, Nordic Living and Boligmagasiet. In September 2014, she won the Danish Crown Prince Couple's Culture Award (''Kronprinsparrets Kulturpris'') for her contribution to design. Her work of includes furniture, jewellery, lamps and sculptures. Her Mikado table has been included in MOMA's design collection. Early life Cecilie Manz was born in 1972 in Denmark's Odsherred region on the island of Zealand. She was admitted to the Danish Design School in Copenhagen and went to Helsinki as an exchange student, studying at the Finnish School of Art and Design, before she graduated in 1997. She then worked briefly in Professor Yrjö Wiherheimo's studio in Helsinki before returning to Copenhagen where she founded her own ''Manz Lab'' in 1998. Odsherred
Odsherred is a peninsula in the north-western part of the island Zealand (Sjælland) in Denmark. Odsherred stretches from the Sjællands Odde in the north-west to the now drained Lammefjord in the south, covering an area with a wide range of the most typical Danish landscapes: long sandy beaches, small rolling hills and farming. The peninsula is served by the railway Odsherredsbanen, which runs through the most important towns, including Nykøbing Sjælland, Asnæs and Hørve. The Triennale di Milano is a design and art museum in the Parco Sempione in Milan, in Lombardy in northern Italy. It is housed in the Palazzo dell'Arte, which was designed by Giovanni Muzio and built between 1931 and 1933; construction was financed by Antonio Bernocchi and his brothers Andrea and Michele. The Vitra Design Museum is a privately owned museum for design in Weil am Rhein, Germany. Former Vitra CEO, and son of Vitra founders Willi and Erika Fehlbaum, Rolf Fehlbaum founded the museum in 1989 as an independent private foundation. Danish Museum Of Art & Design
The Designmuseum Denmark () is a museum in Copenhagen for Danish and international design and crafts. It features works of famous Danish designers like Arne Jacobsen, Jacob Jensen and Kaare Klint, who was one of the two architects who remodeled the former Frederiks Hospital (built 1752–57) into a museum in the 1920s. The exhibition also features a variety of Chinese and German porcelain. The museum was known as the Danish Museum of Art & Design ( da, Kunstindustrimuseet) until 2011 and known as the Danish Museum of Decorative Art prior. The Danish Design Center (DDC) is Denmark’s national center for design. Established in 1978, DDC is a non-profit foundation under the Danish Ministry of Business, Industry and Financial Affairs. The role of DDC is to promote the use of design in business and industry, help professionalise the design industry, and document, promote and brand Danish design in Denmark and abroad.
