Marco Antônio Lemos Tozzi (7 November 1973 – 27 December 2011), commonly known as Catê, was a Brazilian professional footballer who played for clubs of Brazil, Chile, Italy, the United States and Venezuela. Career Born in Cruz Alta, Rio Grande do Sul, Catê began his football career with local side Guarany. He had a brief spell with Grêmio before finding success with São Paulo under manager Telê Santana. Catê signed with the New England Revolution of Major League Soccer on March 28, 2001, ahead of the 2001 season. He made his Revolution debut on April 28, 2001, coming on as a substitute in the 83rd minute for Alan Woods in a 1-0 loss to the Miami Fusion. He made his first start for the Revolution on May 5, 2001 in a 3-2 loss to the San Jose Earthquakes. 2001 New England Revolution Season
The 2001 New England Revolution season was the sixth season for the New England Revolution both as a club and in Major League Soccer (MLS). The club missed the playoffs after finishing third in the Eastern conference. The club was reached the final of the 2001 U.S. Open Cup, where they lost to the LA Galaxy. Summary The Revolution qualified for the post-season for only the second time in its history in their 2000 campaign. Alan Woods (born October 12, 1978) is a retired American soccer defender who played a season in Major League Soccer and six in the USL First Division. He is currently the coach of the Oglethorpe University women's team. Player Youth Woods attended Paint Branch High School where he was a 1995 All Met Honorable Mention soccer player. Telê Santana da Silva, also known as Telê Santana (July 26, 1931 – April 21, 2006) was a Brazilian football manager and former player (right winger). He was born in Itabirito, Minas Gerais. Telê was the manager responsible for putting together the 1982 and 1986 Brazil national squads.
