Catuji
Catuji is a Brazilian municipality located in the northeast of the state of Minas Gerais. Its population was estimated to be 6,257 people living in a total area of 421 km2. The city is part of the Immediate Geographic Region of Teófilo Otoni. It became a municipality in 1993. Its name comes from the Tupi language, catú-g-y, meaning "good river" or "good water". The region is famous for its unique rock formations of which Pedra do Chifre and Pedra de Santa Rosa are the most interesting. Geography Catuji is located on highway BR-116 at an elevation of 625 meters, 72 km north of Teófilo Otoni. The distance to the state capital, Belo Horizonte, is 513 km. Teófilo Otoni
Teófilo Otoni is a municipality in northeast Minas Gerais, Brazil. The population of the municipality was 140,937 in 2020 and the area is 3,242.818 km2. Origin of the name The city is named after (Vila do Príncipe, 27 January 1807 - Rio de Janeiro, 17 October 1869), who was a provincial deputy representing Minas Gerais; a national deputy and a senator in the Empire of Brazil from 1864 to 1869; and founder of the city of the same name. Itaipé is a Brazilian municipality located in the northeast of the state of Minas Gerais. Its population was estimated to be 12,836 people living in a total area of 483 km2. The city is part of the Immediate Geographic Region of Teófilo Otoni. It became a municipality in 1962.
