Cathrine Kramer
Cathrine Maclennan Kramer is a Norwegian artist, designer and curator. Career Kramer co-founded the Center for Genomic Gastronomy and CoClimate. She has worked extensively with the Science Gallery Dublin as a curator. She is a guest lecture in Design at the University of Bergen and runs the creative studio the Office of Life + Art. Curatorial work Human+ (2011-2018) Human+: : The Future of Our Species was an exhibition that premiered at the Science Gallery, Dublin in 2011. In 2015 it traveled to Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona in Barcelona where Kramer became lead curator for the expanded exhibition, contributing a new curatorial essay for the catalogue. In 2017 the exhibition traveled to ArtScience Museum in Singapore and in 2018 it was expanded for the Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Rome. The Palazzo delle Esposizioni is a Neoclassicism, neoclassical exhibition hall, cultural center and museum on Via Nazionale (Rome), Via Nazionale in Rome, Italy. The ArtScience Museum is a museum within the integrated resort of Marina Bay Sands in the Downtown Core of the Central Area, Singapore, Central Area in Singapore. Opened on 17 February 2011 by Singapore's prime minister, Lee Hsien Loong, it features major exhibitions that blend art, science, culture and technology. Critical Design
Critical design uses design fiction and speculative design proposals to challenge assumptions and conceptions about the role objects play in everyday life. Critical design plays a similar role to product design, but does not emphasize an object's commercial purpose or physical utility. It is mainly used to share a critical perspective or inspire debate, while increasing awareness of social, cultural, or ethical issues in the eyes of the public.
