The Sanctuary of Our Lady of Knock, commonly referred to as Knock Shrine, is a Catholic Church, Roman Catholic pilgrimage site and national shrine in the village of Knock, County Mayo, Ireland, where locals claimed to have seen an Marian apparition, apparition in 1879 of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Saint Joseph, Saint John the Evangelist, angels, and Jesus Christ (the Lamb of God). Catherine Murray di Montezemolo (''née'' Catherine Bradley Murray; September 18, 1925 – April 22, 2009) was an American fashion editor with a prominent position in Southampton society. Di Montezemolo was born to a wealthy family — her grandfather was the prolific inventor and engineer, Thomas E. Murray, who together with Thomas Edison helped to found the NY-based utility, Con Edison, in the early twentieth century. Arthur Murray (born Moses Teichman; April 4, 1895 – March 3, 1991) was an American ballroom dancer and businessman, whose name is most often associated with the dance studio chain that bears his name. Early life and start in dance Arthur Murray was born in 1895 as Moses Teichman in Galicia, Austria-Hungary, to a family of Jewish background. In August 1897, he was brought to America by his mother Sarah on the ''S.S. Friesland'', and landed at Ellis Island. They settled on Ludlow Street, on the Lower East Side of Manhattan with his father, Abraham Teichmann. Katharine Marjory Stewart-Murray, Duchess of Atholl, DBE (''née'' Ramsay; 6 November 1874 – 21 October 1960), known as the Marchioness of Tullibardine from 1899 to 1917, was a Scottish noblewoman and Scottish Unionist Party politician. She was the first woman to be elected as a Member of Parliament (MP) in Scotland, despite having campaigned against women's suffrage before it was granted in 1918. Catherine Murray was a Scottish aristocrat and courtier. Life She was a daughter of William Murray of Tullibardine (died 1562) and Katherine Campbell. She married Robert Murray of Abercairny (died 1594) in 1560. His father, John Murray, had been killed at the battle of Pinkie, and his older brother William Murray, who had married Margaret Oliphant, died in 1558. In 1577 the Laird of Abercairny became involved in the trial of Violet Mar, who was accused of witchcraft and plotting the downfall of Regent Morton.
