Catherine Crowston
Catherine Crowston (born November 20, 1963) is the executive director and chief curator of the Art Gallery of Alberta. Crowston was previously the director of the Walter Phillips Gallery at The Banff Centre and the curator of the Edmonton Art Gallery. A curator (from la, cura, meaning "to take care") is a manager or overseer. When working with cultural organizations, a curator is typically a "collections curator" or an "exhibitions curator", and has multifaceted tasks dependent on the particular institution and its mission. In recent years the role of curator has evolved alongside the changing role of museums, and the term "curator" may designate the head of any given division. The museum building was originally designed by Donald G. Bittorf, and B. The Banff Centre
Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, formerly known as The Banff Centre (and previously The Banff Centre for Continuing Education), located in Banff, Alberta, was established in 1933 as the Banff School of Drama. The Royal Canadian Academy of Arts (RCA) is a Canadian arts-related organization that was founded in 1880.
