Caterina Davinio
Caterina Davinio (born Maria Caterina Invidia; 25 November 1957, Foggia) is an Italian poet, novelist and new media artist. She is the author of works of digital art, net.art, video art and was the creator of Italian Net-poetry in 1998. Biography Born in Foggia, Davinio grew up in Rome since 1961. She studied literature and art history (student of Giulio Carlo Argan) at Rome University La Sapienza, where, in 1981, she received a MA degree in Italian Literature. Davinio began to write poetry when she was fourteen years old. In Rome, she came in contact with the international circuit of experimental poetry and art, resulting in a number of collaborations with renowned artists, critics and poets of the avant-garde. Since 1997, she has been living in Monza and Lecco, working at an international level. Net-poetry is a development of net.art, involving poetry. This kind of experimental art was born in several different cities and countries around 1995. Lecco
Lecco (, , ; lmo, label= Lecchese, Lècch ) is a city of 48,131 inhabitants in Lombardy, northern Italy, north of Milan. It lies at the end of the south-eastern branch of Lake Como (the branch is named ''Branch of Lecco'' / ''Ramo di Lecco''). The Bergamo Alps rise to the north and east, cut through by the Valsassina of which Lecco marks the southern end. The lake narrows to form the river Adda, so bridges were built to improve road communications with Como and Milan. Biennale De Lyon
Biennale (), Italian for "biennial" or "every other year", is any event that happens every two years. Lamberto Pignotti (born 1926 in Firenze) is an Italian poet, writer and visual artist. Biography In the early 1960s, he was one of the first artists who worked creating intersections between poetry, word and mass media, fixing theoretical basis and assembling traditions of avant-garde and Pop Art. Mirella Bentivoglio
Mirella Bentivoglio (28 March 1922 – 23 March 2017) was an Italian sculptor, poet, performance artist and curator. In the 1960s she joined the international concrete poetry movement. She participated in exhibitions all over the world, including the Venice Biennale (eight times from 1969 to 2001) and the Museum of Modern Art (1992). Biography Mirella Bentivoglio was born in Klagenfurt, Austria, to Italian parents. Her father, Ernesto Bertarelli, was a scientist and professor at the University of Pavia and an avid collector of books. Mirella grew up in Milan and studied in Italy, Switzerland and England. Philadelpho Menezes (born in 1960 in São Paulo, Brazil, died in 2000 following a car accident). Brazilian poet, visual poet, pioneer of new media poetry, professor in the Communication and Semiotics post-graduation program at the Pontifical University of São Paulo.
