''Cat City'' (; ) is a 1986 Hungarian People's Republic, Hungarian adult animated comic science fiction film, directed by Béla Ternovszky and written by József Nepp. The title ''Cat City'' was used in the United States distribution. The film was selected as the Hungarian entry for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, Best Foreign Language Film at the 59th Academy Awards, but it was not nominated. The film is a parody of several famous feature films, mainly the James Bond series. It tells the story of a special agent who is sent to the city of "Pokyo" to obtain the secret plans of a machine that could save mouse society. Of course, the cats not wanting this to happen, send four rat gangsters to stop this special agent, but they never end up proving as efficient as they initially seem. Pom Poko
is a 1994 Japanese animated fantasy film written and directed by Isao Takahata, animated by Studio Ghibli for Tokuma Shoten, Nippon Television Network and Hakuhodo, and distributed by Toho. The film centers around a colony of Japanese raccoon dogs living in the outskirts of Tokyo as they work to combat the growing deforestation of their home. Takahata's third film for Ghibli, ''Pom Poko'' was released on July 16, 1994, to critical and commercial success. In science fiction, or mechs are giant robots or machines, typically depicted as piloted, humanoid walking vehicles.
