Casbah Club
Casbah Club is a British mod rock band formed in Finchley, London in 2004. Career The band consisted of guitarist/vocalist Simon Townshend (brother of Pete Townshend and touring member of The Who), bassist Bruce Foxton (The Jam, Stiff Little Fingers), drummer Mark Brzezicki (Procol Harum, Big Country), and rhythm guitarist Bruce Watson (Big Country). Scottish singer JJ Gilmour sang with the band in its earliest incarnation; a live album entitled ''Eastworld'' from this period was released. Watson left the band to concentrate on his work with Four Good Men prior to re-forming Big Country with Brzezicki and Tony Butler for a 25th anniversary tour in 2007. Casbah Club's debut album, '' Venustraphobia'', was released in June 2006. Finchley
Finchley () is a large district of north London, England, in the London Borough of Barnet. north of Charing Cross, nearby districts include: Golders Green, Muswell Hill, Friern Barnet, Whetstone, London, Whetstone, Mill Hill and Hendon. Pete Townshend
Peter Dennis Blandford Townshend (; born 19 May 1945) is an English musician. He is the co-founder, guitarist, keyboardist, second lead vocalist, principal songwriter and leader of the Who, one of the most influential rock bands of the 1960s and 1970s. His aggressive playing style, poetic songwriting techniques and authorship of two rock operas with the Who, as well as other projects, have earned him critical acclaim. Townshend has written more than 100 songs for 12 of the Who's studio albums. From The Jam
From the Jam are an English band, formed in 2006 as the Gift by Rick Buckler, former drummer with the Jam, together with musicians Russell Hastings and David Moore. The band was named after the Jam's sixth and final studio album (1982), and plays material by that group. In 2006, former Jam member Bruce Foxton performed on stage with the Gift, and later joined the band permanently as bassist; at this point the group changed its name to From the Jam. Tony Butler (musician)
Anthony Earle Peter Butler (born 13 February 1957) is a British bassist, best known for his work with Scottish rock band Big Country. He has also worked with On the Air, The Pretenders, Roger Daltrey, and Pete Townshend, among others. Early life Butler was born at Hammersmith Hospital in White City, London, England. His parents had emigrated to England from the Caribbean island of Dominica. Career In the late 1970s Butler joined the short-lived band On the Air which also included drummer Mark Brzezicki and Simon Townshend (the younger brother of The Who's guitarist Pete Townshend). On the Air released two singles in 1980 and toured with the Scottish band The Skids, which was where Butler met Stuart Adamson. Big Country
Big Country are a Scottish Rock music, rock band formed in Dunfermline, Fife, in 1981. The height of the band's popularity was in the early to mid 1980s, although they have retained a cult following for many years since. The band's music incorporated Scottish folk and martial music styles, and the band engineered their guitar-driven sound to evoke the sound of bagpipes, fiddles, and other traditional folk music, folk instruments. Procol Harum
Procol Harum () were an English rock music, rock band formed in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, in 1967. Their best-known recording is the 1967 hit single "A Whiter Shade of Pale", one of the few singles to have sold more than List of best-selling singles, 10 million copies. Stiff Little Fingers
Stiff Little Fingers are a Northern Irish punk rock band from Belfast. They formed in 1977 at the height of the Troubles, which informed much of their songwriting. They started out as a schoolboy band called Highway Star (named after the Deep Purple Highway Star (song), song), doing rock covers, until they discovered punk. They were the first punk band in Belfast to release a record – the "Suspect Device (song), Suspect Device" single came out on their own independent label, Rigid Digits. Their album ''Inflammable Material'', released in partnership with Rough Trade Records, Rough Trade, became the first independent LP to enter the UK top 20. After six years and four albums, they split up. They re-formed five years later, in 1987. Despite major personnel changes, they are still touring and recording. The Jam were an English rock band formed in 1972 in Woking, Surrey, consisting of Paul Weller, Bruce Foxton and Rick Buckler. They released 18 consecutive top 40 singles in the United Kingdom, from their debut in 1977 to their break-up in December 1982, including four number one hits.
